“So take seriously the story that God has given you to live. It’s time to read your own life, because your story is the one that could set us all ablaze.” - Dan Allender

I am a husband, a father of two children, and a friend.  Since 2010, I have been fortunate to work with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of professional and pastoral roles.  I have worked with adults, adolescents, and kids in areas of trauma, addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, parenting and marriage.

I believe that we all have a story… and every true story is full of joy and pain, brokenness and healing.

I desire to create a space for our stories to be told, honored, understood, and put in their proper place so they may inform our lives but no longer hold the power to disrupt our sense of self and our relationships.

I am deeply committed to walking with individuals, couples, and families to know and understand their own stories so that we can interact in the world as complete people, instead of as a persona that we may have created to navigate challenging experiences, difficult emotions, and unprocessed hurt.  It is through this collaborative work that people find freedom to live fully in relationship with themselves, God, and others.

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, ideally at Radnor Lake, being with my kids, sitting in a local coffee shop, or playing golf with my friends.

Derek has his Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lipscomb University and is working under the supervision of Eleah Hyatt LMFT.
