“To lose track of our stories is to be profoundly impoverished not only humanly but spiritually.” — Frederick Buechner
“What really works in therapy is a real person connecting to a real person.” — Mary Pipher
Life does the best it can to squeeze out every ounce of resilience we have in us.
What do you do when you’ve come to the end of yourself?
We aren’t wired to face the hurt, fear, and loneliness of life alone.
In my work as a counselor, my hope is to cultivate a compassionate space for clients to slow down, engage their story, integrate their head and their heart, and reconnect to themselves and the people that matter most. What has become unmanageable becomes more manageable. What has been silenced is given a voice. What has been unwitnessed gets a witness.
As an attachment-based and systems-informed counselor, I primarily work through the lens of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). What this means is that with both couples and individuals, we’ll explore the perfectly understandable strategies and patterns that get you stuck in order to change and experience healthier relationships with yourself and others. I also utilize aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative Therapy, with a focus on engaging the messages you received growing up about who you were and how to be.
In my free time, you can find me trying new restaurants with my wife, sitting at a coffee shop with a good book, yelling at a Nashville SC game, or telling people to watch Ted Lasso.
